Welcome to our new podcast, Not Your Mama’s Autism. I’m Lola Dada-Olley.
It is said that only 1 to 2 percent of the entire world’s population lives with autism. I was nine years old when my baby brother was first diagnosed. Over twenty years later, I would not give birth to only one child who would later be diagnosed with autism, but two.
My family and I look forward to telling you our story through this multigenerational lens. Our podcast will go there and touch upon topics that include what growing up was like, how my background aids me in raising my children today, various treatments, marriage therapy, the intersectionality of race and disability and so much more.
